Road to Recovery

Each year in the U.S., there are over 185,000 new amputations and 17,000 new spinal cord injuries.  Feelings of hopelessness and despair are common among the newly injured and their families.

During their painful recovery process, Nick and Lindsay found inspiration in the stories of others who had endured devastating injuries and extensive rehabilitation. This gave them strength to persevere and hope that they could create a meaningful life again. GET BUSY LIVING was created to inspire others to keep pushing forward toward their goals.

Nick & Lindsay

They met while skydiving in 2005, fell in love and became full-time skydiving instructors. After Nick's accident, Lindsay put her life on hold to focus on helping her partner recover. At the end of an 18-month recovery, they set their sights on the lofty goal of jumping together again.

I really counted every step forward as a win. It’s been hard, but that’s how we’ve done it. Together.

I knew with every fiber of my being I was going to get back on my feet and walk again.
